Glass tops

I need some help and wasn't sure where to post, hope here is ok.

I just got a 120 gallon tank and the top is split in 2 making 2 halves. Each of the half pieces has 2 parts of glass, the short one that you can lift up and down, and the long one that goes nearly to the back of the tank(leaves room for filter).

I was cleaning them when my dog ran over and shattered the large glass on one them. Where can I get new ones or whole new glass tops? Does Home Depot or Lowes cut glass pieces so I can have it go directly over the HOB filter and have no gaps?

you'll be able to find glass at home depot or any glass shops. years ago i was able to buy it at home depot and they would even cut it to size.

Home Depot or Lowes. You can buy another glass lid from most LFS and they come with a plastic spacer to cover the gap in the back.

something like that happened to me, except I was trying to reach over the tank and my gut went through the lid. I just took a broken piece to a glass shop to match the thickness, gave him the dimensions and he cut me a new piece that fit back into the black plastic of the lid. It only cost me like $5...

Glass shop can cut any size glass or plexiglass to fit your top.

plexi is the way to go for tops... glass well.. obviously it breakes...
