i see lots of you guys use acrylic tanks, why is that, overhere we only use glass tanks, i dont know anyone with a acrylic tank, and i know lots of fish dudes around here, also with big tanks, my tank for example isnt small but it is nothing compared to what ive seen seen from some dudes on MFK :(My tank is 300X100X80 CM,
in holland thats BIG:)

I wish someone around me would stock acrylic, nobody will because they say all their customers complain about scratches. I'm too cheap to pay the additional cost of shipping on one :)

I have never had an acrylic tank, I heard that they are alot clearer than glass tanks. How is this so...?

I think that's just marketing hype. After all the hairline scratches, the acrylic loses in clarity to glass.

i use acrylic because its a lot lighter on the weight and way more durable than glass!! Plus glass will leak eventually in the long run... i've never heard of an acrylic tank leaking yet.

but acylic leaks also when your then 10 to 15 years down the line thats why tanks over 10 years always are beeing sold, also when there sold by companys that have lots of fish and tanks they always sell there show tank after 10 to 15 years, i think i know why.
butt why is for you guys the weight such a problem, you can just dissamble the tank, i did that just a few days ago, if you cant lift it. the tank i dissamled was 700 kg i could never lift that with 4 guys so
