Hi i'm pretty new to this site(and to keeping a fish tank) and this site has helped me with all my problems. I wish i could reply to more peoples problems, but i just don't know the answers. So.... i'll just keep posting my problems hoping somebody can help me and maybe somebody else with the same problem.

my problem..... i have glass worms . Anybody know where they come from and how to get rid of them?
Thanks

Welcome to MFK. I think a lot of fish that can will eat them... not to sure though.

WELCOME TO MFK!!! What do these worms look like and where do you normally see them.

Glasswurms are mosquito larvae, I don't think you have those. Sounds like planaria to me too.

Yep, planaria. If anyone has a way to get rid of them, I would like to know. Basicly, it is all about cleaning as much as possible. I had sand in my tanks and ended up removing it because it allowed for them to hide. Also you have to clean everything all the time. I am operating my tanks bare bottom now just because of the worms. It makes cleaning up the tanks so much easier. I still have the worms but they are in much smaller numbers. Every now and then they have a population explosion.

Cut down on feeding, treat with salt, and do lots and lots of water changes.
