It has been recommended that my daughter go to a gluten free diet do to her GI issues. As a whole, the household will be also be heading this way. Just looking for advice, tips and experiences.
Personally, I don't have this problem. My cousin has GI issues and she has felt a lot better since eating gluten free products. One thing to note is that some times when she goes out to eat, even though the restaurant claims it's gluten free, her stomach will bother her. It's 50/50 with going out to eat. Hth a little and good luck, man.
If theres one near you check out Wholefoods, they offer a large selection of gluten free, organic, and vegan options, although you may find gluten free bread cheaper online. A lot of gluten free foods that I've tried taste better than the original. Once you find gluten-free alternatives to what you already eat it should work out just fine.
Check farmers markets, local bakery's, Mom and pops stuff. My niece and sis in law are both gluten free. Needed too because of gi issues as well. Memorize ingredients to so you can quickly identify problem foods. Night and difference in my nieces health since going to gluten free.
Thanks all, just got back from our local Kings soopers after first visiting whole foods. Surprised at the availability of gluten free products at Kings.

Bread, hamburger buns, cereal, yogurt, cheeze, just alot of the basics. She is also going lactose free, so this wiped out alot of the prepaired frozen diners that were gluten free. Looks like she/we will be doing alot of research for recipes and learning to cook/prepare glutten lactose free meals.
Seems there is alot available out there, just takes some looking to find it.
