I have 2 small GSP in with a ID shark and a large jack dempsy. Everything was going great until the other day..

I guess the puffers wanted some live food. Both of the small puffers attacked, and ate my jack dempsy alive. I was amazed that two 1.5 inch fish would even consider a 9 inch fish as food.

Anyone have a story like this?

Not suprised. Watched a 1" dwarf puffer go after a golf ball sized snail. You do know that GSPs are best kept in brackish water. And watch they will take out the ID shark- those sharks are not aggressive and easily panic.

Eek! Sorry bud...

Th Jd has never attacked anything, I keep him well fed and he prefers the foods I prepared him anyways.
The puffers are usually smarter than the Jds' in my experience.

Good point.

Another good point. This endangers both the puffers AND the JD.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are no water conditions where both these fish can get along. GSPs will need eventual salt or near salt conditions.

Did you actually see it happen? Why didn't you save the JD IF you saw it happen...?

what the hell is a gsp?
