^ some plecos may from the pet releases but majority of these plecos come from the escapees of fish farms during hurriances.

I've read this article several times now. The comments bother the snot out of me. Most of them have no clue what they're talking about, and the same goes for the writer. That sort of ignorace drives me crazy.

What's wrong with the writers? At last they got the facts right unlike with the snakeheads.

Common plecos unlike snakeheads or other predators destroy the food chain from the bottom just like koi. They have been destroying bayous in houston for years

I believe someone posted a Youtube clip shows a lake of Mexico holds overpopulations of pleco in Fishing Thread....never seen massive schools of plecos before!!!

Majority of the writers on Yahoo! Go only for oversensationalizing. Granted, yes, in this case they aren't wrong. Personally, I don't agree with introducing non-native species. I don't like it one bit either. That's part of being a responsible fishkeeper. Taking care to research a potential buy and if it does get too big, you find another responsible place to care for it.

I'm not knocking the OP by any means for posting the article. I'm just tired of the majority of Yahoo!'s articles in the grand scheme.
