Netted it in a SW canal in punta gorda. 3 inches long, goby shaped (that's a given, since it IS a Goby) brown and with black modeling. Could "walk" on land like any Goby. Looks like a Round Goby, but rounder with more mottling.
I did get a pic, but its not extremely clear and its on my cell phone and the only person in my family who can download pics from a cell onto the computer flew into florida last week. It was not a mudskipper, it was in Florida, on a ledge in the canal, not a mud flat. The canal has land strip on one side that extends on sand for about 6 feet then drops down to 15 feet under a big rock ledge. thats where the serious canal fishing happens. Goliath Grouper, Snook, Jack Crevalle, and Barracuda all hang out under that rock reef.
