goby id?

i got what was labeled as a marbel sleeper goby last night and was looking up some more info on it when i noticed that it dident look like anything that was being shown. it has a thick ivery strip down its back with the rest of its body being black with white freckles any one know what kind it is? be is close to 8 inched long

well that would explain alot lol i have herd of that kind but it has been a long time since i have seen one lol. more er less means i payed to much for it but i like it none the less thanks he is in a 150 with my new rtc. im just happy i found two fish that are not supposed to move but do and have great personality. thanks for the help
 
these guys are not really gobies (no fused fins suction cup), they are in different but related family

You sure it's not Gobiomorus dormitor? In the right mood and over the right substrate I've had 'em take on this pattern.
And while I'm asking, why is the bigmouth sleeper not more common in the US hobby? They're brilliant, and with a little current are pretty active. A

Positive Water Cow on this guy, but you make a good point about sleeper gobies
 
Definitly not bigmouth its a spotted sleeper (water cow). I have bigmouth sleepers also they are some of my favorite sleepers.
