Goin to The Fish store

Hey all, i'm going to the fish store, today, i only have about 9-11 inches of fish in my 20 gallon, and Its been up and running for about a week and a half now. I was wondering if anyone knew of a reason for me not to get an angelfish, as thats what im looking to buy later on today?

Howdy,

check your nitrites and ammonia first. Did you simply set up the tank, or did you prime it with bacteria? It also depends on what species these 9-11 inches of fish are. There's a lot to consider.

what your friend should have said was to ask for a part of the filter media from an established tank. A little bit of water from an established tank won't help your tank cycle quicker.
