For breeding species that I don't have a good rate of success with, which I'm assuming is just a matter of the water in their tanks not being ideal enough for them, is there a way to just find the water conditions of where they come from to replicate? If I can't find it on care sheets or compendiums I might as well just go right to the literal source. I however haven't had luck just looking up a body of water and getting the water parameters, I usually just get either the conditions of the nearby ocean or the tap water parameters of the closest town.

I use fishbase and cichlidae ( cichlid room companion) for this kind of data. fishbase allows you to search by water body for sympatriotic species as well
