so i just got done building my 320gallon and just put in a order to fill my tank with devils. what's your opinions. to start things off 2 cichla orino, 2 parachromis motaguense, 2 p. managuense, 1 p. friedrichgthalii, 1 dovii, 1 c. beani. im starting them all at about 2 inches and i do have back up tanks incase things don't work out. lets hear some thoughts

yeah definitely bold but will be awesome if you can get it to work, my only suggestion would be to maybe grow the beani out to 4-5in in a separate tank before adding it so that its past its most sensitive bloating stage, but other than that just keep a close eye on it and keep that divider handy lol

ya i dont know much about the beani.. i have been told by quite a few that most of these fish will be the only one's in my area besides the jags ofcourse.. i have built my sump for this tank to act like 3 separate holding tanks and will be planted with lights plus my plywood 82 gallon tank. so if one does start getting beat on or one fish decides to be a bully (my guess will be the dovii) then i can separate them.. im way excited and hopefully it will work since they will be in such a big tank. i have seen thses fish before but usually in their own tanks because of agressivness

this is going to be super.. love to follow up with it so keep us posted.Good Luck!

It could work. Terd Ferguson on here has a 300 something w/ a mixture of parachromis in it. Watch out for that Beani as they are prone to bloat I believe when they're small. Hope it all works out for you. I had a pair of 8-10" dovii in a 150g community that worked until they had babies.

haha ya i requested all males so hopefully we dont have any try to pair off becuase then for sure all h*ll would break loose.. i will post pictures once i get them in the tank but it will be a little while im still aclimating the big tank for the next few weeks.. what happens with the beanis? is it from the food, how is it prevented?

I believe you should feed them a varied vegetable diet and keep them from getting stressed. In a tank that large, it doesn't seem like they would be though. How big are they gonna be?

if you are going to have multiple males of the same species then i would say problems are going to arise even in that tank, terd ferguson's tank works by sheer luck but also because he has pairs of the parachromis and not multiple males, normally its best to either have pairs or just one male of each species
