It is that time of year in West Virginia that makes all of my family ecstatic. Fishing season (for us at least) will start sometime this week and i was wondering if anyone knew some good bait for small bluegill, pumpkinseed and other small "panfish". It is definitely early spring weather around here and once the river clears up we should be fishing. i was thinking to crank a spinner slowly, or fishing with live minnows. Any other suggestions?

My grandpa gave me a bunch of flatfish, I think thats what they're called. Small hardbody lure. a lot of action. I've had some success with those.

For panfish...nothing beats crickets. Use the tiny "quill" bobbers and you are more likely to get the big 'uns!
