They have always interested me and so taking the final steps.
The plan is to try and get a true pair out of a small group. I am currently setting up the tank. I have a good sized twisty piece of wood, 2 large lave rocks, 3 slate like pieces and two extremely large pebble shaped rocks. As to foliage I have a bunch of silk plants though the way the tank looks currently have ordered more plastic plants to pad out more and will be considering some sort of floating plant such as water lettuce.
I have the bits and pieces so hope to aquascape soon. Except for ensuring limiting water changes but keeping good eye on parameters, moving the excess channas once a hopeful pair has formed and feeding a good diet (keeping temps low depending on which sub tropical) are there other things to consider?
One thing I do wish to ask for channas what do you feed yours to give a good varied diet?
And if anyone has their channa setups to share I would love to see some, that would be great x
