Right now, I have a 29 gallon tank with brackish water for a figure 8 puffer and a few bumblebee gobies. I am going to change those fish to a different spot and change this tank to fresh water. I was just going to do a 100% water change. Is this fine? There is no reason to wash out the sand or silk plants, correct? Thanks.

The only problem i can possibly think of is you may kill off your BB in your filter if you do a 100% water change? but not exactly certain...

You will for sure kill off your BB. Been a while since I had a brackish tank but I belive any swings greater than .002 (research and you'll find the exact #) will be more than the bio can adjust to. The brackish BB will die no matter what eventually but stepping it down can avoid a complete re-cycle and give FW BB time to cultivate as the BW BB die off.

I think you should rinse everything out. Marine salt is still in your sand, fake plants etc... and will still enter the water volume even in low amounts. FW fish do not benifit from this in any way so why leave it? (if you wouldn't lick it, wash it :D) In a tank that size I would wash it will and start over using established media from another tank/filter.
