First post here at MFK.
Well after a good 10 years in salt, I'm going back to fresh water. i have a 180 gal. I wanted to get some rays and arowanas.
I have a sump which I was going to fill with bio balls or other filter media (for instance, Seachem Matrix).
Question, is it better to have the media submerged in the water or does that defeat the purpose (wet/dry???).
I have a tower down to the sump which I had bio balls. Any ideas? Suggestions?
Also, how often should i clean the media, whether bio balla, scrubbies or matrix?
Thanks.
