Hey everyone.

I'm going on vacation June 12-17th, and I was looking for some opinions on something...

I already have a baby RTC, and my 5 baby peacock bass will be here tomorrow from John. My plan is to leave them in my 20 gallon long quarantine for the 5 days I'm away, both for their health and to make it easier on my brother who will be caring for them. It's easier for somebody with minimal knowledge to deal with 20 rather than 125 gallons.

Do you guys think these 6 little guys will be OK in there for the 5 days? Tank is bare bottom with a carbon HOB 20 gallon filter. I know there will be waste to manage, but to make it easier on my bro do you think we could put food in the tank twice while I'm gone? Not sure if that's necessarily "stunting" for less than a week, but I'm just nervous about water quality and maintenance while I'm gone.

Any ideas? Of course I'm going to make sure my bro gets it before we leave, but there's always the thought of someone else taking care of your fish...

Thanks!

No its not stunting their growth if you don't feed for a few days, it will actually be better since there will be less of a chance for the water to get fouled up. Sounds like you have a good plan.

Well the only thing I know them (peacock Bass) to eat is live. But 20 - 30 feeder guppies. But they can also go a week with out no food. Putting commercial food in a sit in the tank and deteriate the water since it is only 20 gals.

I dropped in a cube of bloodworms today and they were gone in 30 seconds. I'm thinking I could have my bro do this a few times while I'm gone. The new guys look great! Can't get pics yet though...

well if your just getting them then they might be weaker. But they should be fine just feed them every 2 days

Fish can survive up to a month without eating. You will be fine.
