hi well i really wanted a bichir for a while and so im going to get one just dont know which can anyone tip me on a cool new bigginer bichir with pics please thanks! (its gonna be in a tank with peacock bass if thats alright)
I'm sure you already know big fish eat little fish, so just be careful because bass grow faster than polys.
All bichirs are cared for the same except for size-of-tank requirement, so it's pretty much up to you to pick your favorite looking one that you have space for and enjoy it.
Good starters are senegalus, delhezi, palmas polli (all active).
Hey good luck man! I think the basic Bichir for most people is the Senegal. It stays the smallest, but I think hat most Bichir species have the same basic care needs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. By the way nice avatar!
as long as the senegal birchirs are also called dinosaur birchirs at petsmart then yeah. i've had one and put it with the native fish i caught. he is now 1" longer and seems to b very healthy. i never check the water quality, feed them on a normal basis, or give him any treats. i put him w/my cichlids but they tried to kill him and i put him in a 20g. start a tank and use him as a cleaner.
