Somewhere lost
A desert Kingsnake, and a bibron gecko(Pachydactylus bibronii). How much different is the kings care from a corn snakes? Also any tips for the gecko? I am not sure exactly how to care for it as at the pet store we looked it up and it said they hide under rocks and use sand and gravel, then I looked at home and it says cochusk, they like plants and live in trees. Then a UVB bulb when some don't say that. So I a quite confused on that, so can you direct me in the right direction. I haven't got them yet.
Edit:
I am pretty sure it's a desert king which is what I was told, his black with yellow strips with very little orange on his sidesm then a black head with yellow spots. Sorry don;t have any pics of him.

After looking on google, I think it's a FL king, except with less orange, if this is what he is will he get more orange as he grows(he's a hatchling)?

I've kept both corns and an eastern kingsnake. Kings like it a little warmer than corns and will bask if offered a spot lamp. If you want to breed your king, you should let him cool off and not feed him for a couple months in the winter; otherwise you can keep him awake year round though if there is a window in the room he might just slow himself down anyway. Other than that, the only difference between the two species that comes to my mind is that you can usually allow a couple corns to share the same enclosure, but if you do that with kings you'll end up with just one fat king (or a couple dead kings that have strangled eachother). In terms of coloration, my king's yellows never really changed as he got older. I only had him for 5 or 6 years, though, since I "had" to get rid of him because my dorm wouldn't keep him. Hindsight 20/20 I should have dumped the idea of living in a dorm, not the snakes.

Sorry, but don't have any direct experience with geckos other than cresteds.

I don't plan on breeding him. I know they eat snakes(which probably will be a treat if I can find feeder snakes). The room doesn't have any windows. He has yet to bite or musk me so if I keep him handled hopefully I will have a tame snake. If not o well. I don't house any of my snakes together so that's not an issue. It's fine that you don't know about the gecko, someone else who knows will chime in sooner or later.
