Just got back from the local LFS,i bought a nice looking cat that was labled"Gold cat",the clerk told me it only grew to 6 inches, well i informed him that it looked exactly like a baby Sun Cat.Well he looked it up on the store computer and i was right,so i am really happy now,i know that these guys are real monsters.I would like to hear from anybody who has experience or knowledge of these cats, like how big they can get in an aquarium, what they eat etc,etc thanks.:headbang2

I had 3 of these guys before, they can be really shy especially if kept in low numbers. They will eat pretty much anything live shrimp, fish, many different types of prepared foods. They do prefer the dark, and will usually hide during the day. A way to make them come out is if the tank is dimly lit. They can grow to a fair size but grow really slow. They rarely reach full length (18-20inches) more commonly they reach a length of about 8-12 inches in the aquarium. Bigger tank the better. How big is your tank?

Theres a link with some info as well.

125 is good sized aquarium for it to get big. But yeah it will take a while to get to a good size. I think in the year in the half or so years ive had them they've grown roughly 2 inches maybe. There between 5-6 inches now.

Most likely you TSN will have him for a snack. There's a slight slight chance it's possible but I don't think it's worth the risk if your TSN does try and eat it and it gets stuck in it's throat.
