gold dat?

anybody know if there is a such thing as a gold dat? My local lfs have two at 4inch for sale for 50 bucks each. The dats have three thin bars across the body. The only bad thing about is that its sick. Should I gamble on picking it up?

what do you mean it is sick? do you know what it has? They are a pretty touch fish so depending on what it is they would recover easily...

Your LFS will knowingly sell you a sick fish at full price? Sounds like its time to find another LFS to me!

a good LFS shoudn't sell any sick fish period. full price or not, it sick! it will make the rest of your fish sick as well. I would wait until the dat heal up and in good condition first before you purchase him.

LFS will call ST, IT, NTT, and NGT "Gold Dat" because they are unfamiliar with Dats in general. By your description I agree with JD7 that it is a NTT.
