Anyone even ever heard of a gold dempsey? Legitamite color variant or genetic mutt? Looks like a regular jack, just really gold colored. Just wondering.

yes I've heard of them and seen them. I believe they are a naturally occuring color morph similar to a pink convict. imo not as attractive as a normal JD but they're cool for something different and unusual. 
that pink dempsy looks pretty nuts ...not really liken that "gold" color...thats just my two cents...
I have seen them as well, and I have to say that they are probably the least attractive of all the gold color morph cichlids
