My LFS just got in a gold knife fish. It doesn't appear to have any spots, but its a solid gold color and it is probably 4-5 inches long. Is this a common fish? They're charging 25 bucks. Good deal? I can post some pics tomorrow.

Seems like an ok deal. I bought my golden clown knife at around a foot long and I paid $45 I believe. Mine is quite spotted though.
I paid about that for my little guy, and he was a smidge smaller (3-4" I'd say). He didn't have any spots when I got him, but he's developed some as he's grown larger.... much larger. He's almost 12" now. Hides a lot, but that makes the times he comes out even more special.

I got one! Looks malnuroshed I think. I can see veins and parts of him are translucent. I'll fatten him up though. (i don't actually know the sex, im just calling it him because it doesn't have a name).

Nice! Cute little fella. Can't wait to watch him grow up. Did the store say what they were feeding him?
Mine was on feeder guppies, and I left him on live for a while after I bought him, but he was pretty easy to break onto tilapia and silversides.
