Hi. Would like to know the following info on these knives:

Diet:

PH:

Water Quality: Soft, Medium, or Hard

Maximum Size:

Tanksize:

Temperament towards own species:

Temparament to other Knives:

Temperament to Other Fish:

Considering these for a future tank.

Diet: we feed ours at the lab live black worms and blood worms. We feed all of our knives this.

pH: basic S. American fish so "optimal" is in the 6.5-7.0 range. We have kept them as low as 6.3 and as high as 7.2. But, like most fish, just keep the pH stable and they will adapt, BUT Eigenmannia (glass) tend to be more sensitive to environment changes.

Water Qual: soft, but the will adapt just keep it stable

Max Size: We had a Eigenmannia spp as big as 10-12 inches. But we had 3 species that looked different (to me at least) One species that looked more "glass" to me the biggest was 6-8 inches that we had. For the God line... have have one that is about 24 inches long.

Tank Size: use your best judgement based on max size. Neither of these fish seem very active (at least during the day)

Temperament towards there own: The glass knives love to hang around each other. And we have kept the gold lines with each others but they seem to scuffle every once in a while.

Temperament towards others: Glass knives are nice and delicate adn they leave everyone alone. We have kept these with ever single species we have that won't kill them. They are not a proble, Gold lines have also been kept with ever species, except for male P. hasemani and IDK if that is just bc or if there is a reason. but they leave people alone too and they are big enough to handle themselves.

Other fish: No idea, we only have knives. I would guess it would be fine though. They are not aggressive fish. Glass are kinda wimpy though so keep away from anything aggressive.

The glass fish would be killed or eaten by most if not all of that list. The bichirs would leave them alone if they were too big to eat and it would depend on the lungfish obviously. The rest will tear them apart. They aren't that big, don't have a lot of girth, and they are wimps.

Gold lines... I do not know. We only keep knives at the lab. The bichir would leave them alone for sure. Catfish only mess with things they can eat. I would imagin the gars and arowana would leave it alone if the knifefish was big enough, but I cannot be sure about that.
