I’m just curious, I’ve seen pictures online and all of the smaller ones I’ve seen had no jaguar pattern they were just a shiny gold but then I saw a big male on YouTube with full jag pattern. Do all of them get the full pattern when they grow? Or do some stay gold with no markings?

I just saw aquamojos post, damn those are sick. I like the all gold ones I think I like them with the pattern a little better though, I’m setting up my 125 after the holidays, hooking it up with a new fx6 and titanium heater. Can’t wait to get a jag again they’re my favorite. This time no tankmates with the exception of a female when he grows out.

The fish that have little or no pattern area a result of line breeding. THe fish I have now came from the Czech Republic. ANd they do have a alight pattern. THe fish of old...fish from the 80's looked more like Managuense. Rapps is credited with bringing them back inot the hobby back then. Here's my older pair. No recent pictures of my current...but plan on getting some shortly.Gold Managuense 213b.jpg Gold Managuense 201b.jpg

Do these come from a certain location or is it a pattern that can happen among the whole species.
