I just recently bought a Gold Nugget Pleco and did a little more reading on him to see if there is anything different needed compared to my other fish in the tank as far as special needs. At thatfishplace.com, in thier section for care they mention that the pleco is sensitive to temp. My tank is currenly at 74 degrees and has had no problems with any of the other fish (Gars, crayfish, raphael, crabs, and a softshell turtle), should I turn up the heat? or do you think the little guy will be fine?

Their diet tends to be more high protein orientated than a lot of other types of plecos, have you read the plantcatfish profile on these plecos yet? If not, it has a wealth of good info on them;

With the turtle and crayfish, almost all turtles and crayfish have the ability to eat fish as in general they are all essentially predatory critters in nature (many also scavenge too on top of their darker side), there is always a certain degree of risk when stocking such critters in community fish tanks, i've known people to have such animals/critters very successfully in community fish tanks for a long time only for the crayfish or turtle to turn around one day and devour half of its fishy tankmates on a whim...So just a warning.

What sort of crab/s do you have?

The crabs are a unknown as the LFS had a generic name for them, never bothered to look it up. All info I researched mentioned what you did for diet so no worries there.
like I said, one place did mention temp and that was where my concern was. Just wanted to confirm with another source, and a open forum with those who have experiance to me is a great place to get info like that, which is why I joined this place. The turtle is strating to get big (shell is 6 inches tip to tip) and I will be transfering him to another tank before winter is here. As for the crayfish, they are well feed intentionaly and leave anything moving alone. They too will be getting a new home sometime in the future since I will be putting an Oacar in the tank in the next month or so, just waiting for the little bugger to grow to the point that he does not become dinner for the Gars.
