Just picked one up ever since getting may emperor I been after some more fancy plecs, what's the max size of one the guy in the shop said 3" which I thought was a bit small, and like my emperor are they wood eaters.

Gold nugs get big but the chance of that happening in a tank is not very good. They are slow growers as well. Their diet needs to be a mix of wafers and vegetables. Wood is a plus they chew on it and hide in it. Good luck

I would say about 8 or 9 inches is the max with good water and a good diet
