what is the latin name for gold pikes? my lfs is selling "gold pikes" but they are juveniles. I want to look up info but i can figure out what it's proper name is. it is not a xingu I. I have one of those already.

Look up Saxatilis pikes....then look at pictures, find the one that looks most like it. Its a type of Saxatilis pike most likely, no idea what type by your description though. Saxatilis pikes are kewl pikes, being smaller and somewhat more stocky. Max. for the largest species is about 12". They are more conspecific persay, as in they don't really enjoy other pikes more than Lugubris group do. So aggression can be a problem...the more the better till you get a pair. Aside from that, they are just like all the other pikes in requirements...
