Gold saum juvi tank size

Hey guys.

Can and how long for could a 2" gold saum live in a 30gal tank for? I have a 420l tank already but would like to grow the fish more first.

A couple months, but it really isn’t going to put on much size till it’s in a bigger space.

Any reason why you don’t want it in the bigger tank right away?

I have a female JD in the tank thats about 4inch so I wasnt sure if they would get on. There is plenty of hiding spots but the JD already chases the silver dollars lol

Oh ok. Well you can either try adding it in and see how it goes, or grow it out a bit first.

Either way it will be a toss up if they will get along. I tried keeping a female saum and female jd and it only worked for a few months till the saum started spawning. Then the jd has confined to a cave:/
That was in a 75g.
Be watchful. Hopefully it works out better for you then it did for me.

so then do i just use table salt or is there a sectit aquarium salt i dont know about
