Hey guys im looking at buying some Gold Saums and the shop had these 2 for sale at about 2" - 2.5". Ive attached the pics of them. Should they have more color at this point, do these look like they would make a good buy?

They are pretty drab, but that’s not uncommon while fish are at the store.
They are also very thin. Again, not uncommon but they will need time to look their best.
Are they a good buy? That depends on how much they are asking, how common they are in the area, and what you are looking for.

I’d personally pass if they aren’t hard to come by in your area.

If they are more than about $5 a piece......then take a pass. Only way I would pay more is if they were grown out a bit with good color and physical features. They are still quite small to be showing a lot of color.

I was thinking the same thing, but it could just be the fuzzy picture and stressed fish making them look off.

Thanks for all the replies and help! I decided against them I am gonna wait to find either a slightly larger GT/GS with much more color or wait to find another cichlid with equally striking colors!
Thanks again!
