Afternoon Gents.

Been gone for bloody ages, no internet at home ;) but back at work, and back on board.

Been trying to do a little bit of research as to the "Colour morph" that is the Gold Severum. (not a big fan myself, but a little interested in their genetics)

Has anyone ever seen a green Severum that shows even the remotest colouring of a gold? i for one, certainly have not (save for a little cream on the underbelly)

The reason i ask comes from my female. In all respects, she is a severum, in temper, appearance etc, but one thing is bugging me.

She has a full set of back teeth bursting through her lips.

Compared to my wild green male, whos a real bruiser, is particularlly gummy.

Bit of research has shown that red devils may have been used to induce the orange colouring.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? bit of a discussion would clear my back to work blues :)

love to see your severum.... i have gold and they are just the same as the green..except for color..

I think it's just a semi leucastic form of the normal green severum. Green has a small amount of red pigment in it. And thats what left when the green and blue pigments have been taken away?

I relive this post, interested in learning about the variety of Gold Severum.
The Gold Severum is free in nature or is man-made variety, using artificial selection?
