Gold Severum Sick??

I have searched this whole site and many of the other cichlid sites to find out what the red spot on my golden severum might be. I had grown this severum up in my 280 gallon with a Jack Dempsey, Firemouth, two plecos and my Pacu. I noticed that the Firemouth and the Severum were squaring off about two weeks ago and so I got my 55 gallon set up just in case. I noticed that there is what appears as a red growth on the left side just behind the eye. I do not know whether it is a wound or what and how/if I should do anything.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Boy hard to tell much from the photo. It could be a wound or an unidentified lump or bump. If I were you I would maintain pristine water conditions and just watch for awhile. Here is a good site. Look at Unidentified lumps and bumps on the list of symptoms.
