Good questions to ask before you buy...

Good quality flake or pellet for staple, and they can get over 10 inches.

feed him flakes or some micro hikari gold pellets. he could reach 12" in size but 9"-10" is more probable

oh ok thanks il try it

oh yea whats there growth rate every month?

currently 10 gallon when it gets bigger i might throw it into my 160 gallon with my arowana

he will grow pretty slow in a ten. I bought 15 rotkiels off of aquabid in august and gave some of the extras to people I know. I have some in my 150 and they are 3-4 times the size of one of the guy who keeps them in his 20 and they are a 3rd bigger than the ones I keep in my 44. He is definetly to small for the arowanas but when he is bigger he should be alright

If I were you, house it in a 40g. 10g is too small. They grow quickly. Unless you are doing daily water changes in a 10g, then the growth rate simply is very slow which would be very unusual for young severums. It does not take more than 7 months for juvenile gold sevs to reach 6 inches or at least in my experience.

lol ok thanks dude my sever is with an african arowana rofl
