I just bought a 2 in. gold severum for 10 $ and i was wondering how fast do they grow and what should i feed him thanks:)

Thet grow fairly fast 5" possible the first year , mine eat flakes , pellets , krill, crawfish although i hear they like a lil vegetation i have never tried . good luck really beautiful fish

i feed mine freeze dried shrimp, live ghost shrimp, and cichlid flakes. my small severums have grown fairly quick colors are starting to show

IME about 1/2 inch a month. I feed mine flakes, pellets, bloodworms, shrimp, tilapia fillet, krill, brine shrimp. Tank size and water condition should also be ideal.

what kind of ph do they like

They live in soft and acidic water in the wild, but there's no such thing as a GOLD severum in the wild. Since they've been tank bred for MANY generations, they can tolerate a pretty wide range of water conditions.

I would feed NLS pellets, 1mm Cichlid formula, personally. They have a large amount of plant matter in their natural diet.

mine grew fast! i fed them shrimp pellets sinse i got them, and they are 6 & 1|2 in from head to tail! i donno about anyone else's foods, but the pellets enhance their color a lot.:D:D:D:asianarow they seem to like the ph of 7.5-8, they seem to like it higher.

ok thanks

They grow really fast. I had a gold sev and a red sev both at 2" and within 3-4 months, they were both about 6-7". I fed them lots of pellets (hikari sinking cichlid gold) and live blackworms.
