I was confused about that on exoticfishshop too. I did some digging and it turned out to be a porthole shovelnose catfish. Basically a TSN that only gets 2'

Hemisorubim Platyrhynchos if your looking for a name to look up.
Hardly ever see these in uk.
That's a fairly adult one too.
Ahh, thanks Dave. I was fairly confused as to what it was as I’ve never seen this catfish before.

As Dave says. They are pretty rare in the US too and in the hobby in general. I can't recall a single case of someone on MFK growing one out to an adult size or even just reporting on one for a long time. I have never kept one.

Wow, they must be quite rare then, I hope someone on here gets him and keeps us updated on him.

One popped up on aqua imports page this month, 6-7” I picked it up. Mostly a lurker, have been watching with the lights out hoping for some activity, nothing really to speak of. Hoping size brings it confidence. I put it in a tank where I put fry I don’t want to grow out. Maybe it will thin out my colony of siquia and brichardi. I also have a centrodoras being shipped from them next week.
Just need a few more cats!

I’m really digging this cat!
With out me googling it up, can you tell me a little about size and temperament?
How does it do with others?
