gold striped knife

Anybody know what this refers to. saw one at a LFS today, but the one girl who probably would have known was busy. im just wondering if anyone had a scientific name, so that i could get some info on them.

It looked like a black knife, but its body was larger, and the tail section was longer and it had a horizontal yellow stripe that started at about the middle of his body and ran down his tail.

Is it Sternopygus macrurus... ? I don't know anything about this fish, but I love knives and I'm interested to know.

get good sized, seem one about 13-15in. really awesome fish.

Hey bro ... do you have any more info on it?

The info available is a little sketchy (I'm still looking though) but it says that it generates a weak electrical current.

Seems like an amazing fish though..

I found this cool site.

The electrical discharges of steropygus macrurus were converted into sound and they even play the sound on the site showing the graph of sound waves ... pretty cool! :D
 
interesting. thinking about getting one, its about 10" now, but if hes going to get as large as a CK i dont have the space... thats why id like to know how large he will get, and if he needs any different requirements, thanks for the help.
