So my LFS aparently has a WC gold wolf (what the owner called it) from peru. He was about 6-8 inches and very light colored. The owner also wants $200 for him. I just had a couple questions to maybe help me decide if I want to grab this guy.

$200 too much a fish like this?

He would be going into a 150g with a bunch of 10+ inch bichirs which should be fine right?

I also have 5 clown loaches around 5-7 inches, I would assume these guys would 100% be eaten right?

Just answer my questions best you can please?!

Gold like xanthic???

A black wolf fish cost 500-800.00

What variety is he selling. An albino common should be 200 cause a normal common is cheap.

Gold wolf could be the species Hoploerythrinus unitaeniatus, which one of the most active wolf fish and the most social (they normally live in groups)

But keeping with bichirs would be ok right? Clown loaches would be a no no right?

Well he had more of a body shape like the normal black wolves do rather the similar to a red wolf. Not real sure.

Was the wolf active, did it move around much.It could very well be H.unitaneatus which are commonly known as gold wolves and in my experience, very active and aggressive.I paid sixty dollars for mine at about four or five inches.

No way. terrible price IMO. They normally fetch for 50 bucks or so. Well it's your money.

Kinda seemed pricey but decent sized. Was only in 10g holding tank so couldn't really see how active. He did slowly follow my fingers though.

Yeah, the finger following sounds just like H.unitaneatus.They are rather uncommon compared to the rainbows and red wolves but that price is ridiculous.
