Can a 5” gold wolf fish damage an 8” armored granulosus cat?
Im asking because I Iinitially bought these two to go together but the wolf tried to kill the cat the first day. So I moved the catfish . But at that time they were both around 3.5” and now the cat is about 3”-4” longer and way more massive. So id like to try putting it back but I’m hesitant because of the wolfs teeth. So can the cats armor hold up to those teeth if the wolf decides to try to kill it again while I’m at work or something ?

It should work especially since it’s bigger but won’t know til lol you try again. Could wait a bit more till it gets as foot. Some fish just won’t tolerate other tankmates no matter what.

Never had either but I'd say no. Even if the granulated catfish isn't killed by the wolffish, it'd be massively stressed from being a chew toy all day, and all that stress could eventually kill it or compromise its health.

Edit: NINJA'd. Did not see what kno4te said until the same moment I submitted my comment.

If anyone would be the most injured it would be the wolf fish most likely. I made the mistake of leaving a 6-7'' Oxydoras Niger in my dad's 150 gallon aquarium as I was unsure what fish he was getting and I kind of wanted my niger to grow big in this tank. He ended up getting about a 4-5'' black rhombus piranha. The black piranha tried to bite the niger but ended up biting the armor and the armor actually did damage to the piranha's mouth so much so that it looked deformed. My dad was super pissed off I removed the niger. Armored catfish use these bony plates as weapons. But the wolf would probably stress out the granulsis catfish.
