on a RES back. Two spots about pea sized looked like GOLD! It went away after a couple days ..I should have took a pic. Algae?

Def. not algae, was it a more copper color or brownish.

It can be just normal markings, res are very variable in color

No, GOLD round spots.OO < Alittle bigger than that. When I took him out of the tank/lighting they faded.

I have a male and two females, for several months now. Thay were on one of the females.

Ok and thouse spots were always there? Did you notice them now? By the way is your turt sheding it´s shell scales? If yes that would explain the sudden new color. Are they simetric in the shell?

No, they just appeared. After a couple days they were gone. I wish I could have gotten pix. I've panned gold in oregon..the stuff was gold! I'm thinking it was an algae.
