Ive done some research on it and supposenly these snakeheads can be kept with other large fish. My question how would. This fish be with a silver arowana and a indo dat and peacock bass.. What ive read is there fine with other large cichlids and large catfish but was never mentioned of any other fish what are your thoughts. Will one fish kill the othere?.

Best to keep these channa with their own species. I have seen videos of them kept with dats but most would not recommend it because of the aurantimaculatas sub-tropical requirements and the nature of the fish. However i keep 3 aurantis with 6 goldfish and so far have not had problem, they are in a 200gal+tank though and one day I expect to remove the goldfish as the aurantis grow.

Hi,

as already mentioned, Channa aurantimaculata are subtropical, and arowanas are pure tropical, very bad company !!

Dont mix this wonderfiul channa, try getting a pair outta group of youngsters keep them right and breed them.

Hi,

if subtrops are kept in tropical temps all the time they often get nasty bacterial infections, AND they grow out FAT their genitals are transormed to fat. These fish NEED variyng temperatures during the year, and 25 is way wrong, if you say 15 °C in the cold period you are more closer.

All recorded breedings in captivity were after the fish have ben conditioned by cold temperatures AND very less food. These Fish are adapted to this condotions. If you feed them constantly at high temps, they get fat and will never breed, AND they are more aggressive !

as said:, NONE ;-)
