I have a golden dorado. I bought it 2.5 years ago. It is about 14 inches. It will attack fishes like brycons, fishes that look similiar. Miine gets along with other fishes such as silver dollars, large cichlids, etc. In my opinion, the fish is very hardy since I bought it from someone who had it for about 3 years.

what is you're tank size???
ok, im not sure how hardy they are , but they are the most aggressive fish I've seen in an aquarium store they will kill almost anything they see, there are some tank mates like large catfish, plecos or payara or any other large fish
I'm unsure of there growth rate but it seems to be relatively slow, the one at my local aquarium store is about $85
