Does anyone know anything about these fish? I have read about other eel tails and apparently they grow up to 90cm far too big for my tank, yet I have only found info on one site about this fish and it says that it grows to 20cm. If anyone has any information on this fish especially size it would be greatly appreciated.

yeh there about 50 bux fer a 10cm specimen but they are very nice looking. as far as max size and specific scientific id goes there are too many Neosilurus Spp for me too be screwed looking through but it doesnt grow quick and once it out grows a specific tank you can eiter get another tank or sell it as i am sure a large specimen would be worth a few quid

Well I am from Australia and I can actually get one for $16

Probably his backyard :) Like how Brazilian nuts in Brazil are just nuts, and instead of 50 bucks a lb they fall from the trees onto houses :)

A cookie to anyone who knows what movie I'm refering to :)

-Can you find out the actual species? There are several eel tails that are in the 8-10" range as adults including the shortfin tandan (Neosilurus brevidorsalis), and one that tops out at about 4", my favorite, the Dalhousie cat (N. gloveri).

They don't live in brakish water, They can live perfectly in freshwater. I have caught them over 65cm! They are great fighters and taste real good.

I've caught and sold and made a profit of 60 bucks.

The little ones are quite expensive too.

It turned out to be tandanus tandanus
