I was at an LFS today and all of the time I have been there they have had this 1 gorgeous fish labled as a 'Golden Scoby Ancistrus' it had a price tag of £175 amd it looked like a golden nugget plec but this was about 6'' - 8'' and was around 2'' - 3'' thick.ANyone ever kept these?I was told they get to around 2-3 foot and make a Dragon Hi-Fin look like a baby.Any info on the Dragon Hi-Fin would also be helpful.Thanks!

I think it is Scobinancistrus aureatus. Do you have pics?

Nope sorry no pics.I got pics of most other fish..The rays, monster koi, elephant noses ect ='[[

What can you do without the sticky threads?lol

L014 -- Scobinancistrus aureatus
Common name(s):
Goldie pleco, sunshine pleco, L014
Synonyms: None
Special Water Care: None
Diet: Carnivore
Max Size: 45 cm, 18"
Locality: Brazil: Rio Xingu near Altamira
Spawning: Cave spawner
Notes: Can be aggressive towards other loricariids.

Anyone know about the price?£175 ($250) Also can it be kept in a 120 x 50 (high) x 40 community tank?

I believe the L-14 if that is what you are really looking at can grow a couple inches longer than the width(front to back) of your tank. So I would say no it should'nt be housed in that tank for life. The price would be a little high for my liking in the states but that's not to say it is'nt a deal over there. I'm not sure what pleco you mean by dragon hi-fin. There is the L-091 that has a so called "dragon fin" color variant. If this is the pleco you are refering to, it will grow around 10" but to be more accurate an L# or scientific name would be more helpful.
