Hey guys. I am selling a 30 gallon to a woman from craigslist. She is using it to upgrade the goldfish pictured below from his current 20 galllon home.

What type of Goldfish is this? Any info on it? Shes basically clueless and wants to provide better care, and possibly tank mates (im guessing this is probably a no-no as to how dirty goldfish can be.)

any help is appreciated, thanks!

It's a comet goldfish. Tell her not to get any tank mates. Eventually the fish will stunt, and likely die in that 30 gallon, but all you can do is tell her that it will need a larger home some day.

not a comet.. fins are too short.. it's just a london or possibly a golden orfe...

either way they get big and should be in a pond.. definately not a 30 gallon tank..

comets were named comets because they have a long tail like a comet. this fish has a short stumpy tail. Its a regular standard goldfish.

It's a common Goldfish, with proper care & room it can get up to 12" in length and very thick bodied. If she wants to give him a friend, she should get another Goldfish. They do best with their own kind.
