GOD's country Arcadia Fl. Chasing mollies
My friends mom asked if I wanted a running ten gallon with 3 large goldfish, about 6 weeks ago. I said no as i have a 30 and it is stocked (overly, at that time) and i have no room for another tank.

Anyhow, i got around a 150 gallon preformed pond for free. I added gambusia, sailfin mollies and two bream and 2 channel cats, all under 4 inches.

A video tomorrow. I have to wait until Friday to set up a filter, right now a 150 GPH pump is dropping water a ft to areate it. The women that gave him to me insisted the pond needed to cycle for 3 weeks (It's been set up a week) the mollies and bream and catfish are fine, none have croaked. 5 days ago i did a water change on my 30 gallon and tossed the used filter in to jumpstart the benificial bacteria cycle.

I doubt that fish would of made another day or two in that toxic soup it was living in.

If the cats or bream fin nip by morning, they will get a ride back the river, whence they came.

This poor guy is about 6 inches, minus the 3 inches of tail. Until today, it was living in a 10 gallon with another similar sized goldfish that died 2 days ago, the water was the color of watered down chicken blood.

Poor goldfish is probably confused he has room to actually swim around.

There are a couple things you can do for algae.
Barely works good short term.
My mom had success with adding lots of plants. If you can add more floating plants to cover 2/3 of the top that should help. Also submerged plants like hornwart.
I am a big fan of uv lights. It’s just easier, but does cost more then finding a natural balance.
Cute Goldie:)

^ Agree with MrsE88 MrsE88 above...

Although one of my least favorite plants normally, Duckweed could be a good choice for this setup...

Goldfish i’m pretty sure will eat it and it reproduces at an almost alarming rate once it gets going, so will be good for helping keep water quality in check and compete against algae for nutrients in the water...

Finally, The Morning The Morning is correct, never, ever release aquarium fish back into the wild...
