I got my pool pond running 2 months ago and moved 3 of 5 goldfish from my 55 gallon out there. Since then the other two keeping acting like they want to breed. They take turns chasing each other and do the Cichlid dance and poking on the sides. However, if for some reason they do I'm not holding my breath on babies as I have cories and plecos in the tank that would love some eggs for food.

In the meanwhile, I have confirmed seeing babies swimming in the pond. I have Goldfish, Rosey Reds and Koi in there. I'm pretty sure it's the roseys that did the breeding. The babies look whitish like the parents.

Anyone breed Rosey's before? Any guesses as to how many and how often they will breed?

I bred them once accidently. I was keeping my feeders in a 10 gallon and then stoped buying them for months. I just left the tank alone and when I went to break it down some six months later I had a baby rosy living in it.

My Roseys are now guarding egg pvc tubes . They only bred once last summer and it was Aug but I think they can breed more .I suspect they were to young last yr to breed till late summer .

They are kept outside with dollar suns in shaded area .

This yr they were mating for last few weeks and now guarding eggs . I got 6 babies that survived last yr due to floating plants.
