Goldfish tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
none....unless you are talking a fancy gold fish and even than 20gallons is cutting it for a fish that gets as large as a soft ball with fins with in two to three years.

so one fancy gold fish. and I would get the largest filter you can that will not make a tornado in that tank, I had my fancy in a 29g tank with a cascade 300 HOB filter that seemed to do the trick.

A smaller ac or a smaller penguin would do. You can always upgrade as fish grows. I think you should start with something bigger though, those 40 gallon breeders are cheap. And you could keep up to 2 fancies in it.

I agree, starting with a larger tank is best. You'll get one, then somehow start getting more and more. But if you have space only for 20 that fluval should be good. I do prefer the ac110 for ease of cleaning though. Check out Kokos goldfish for good info regarding goldfish grooming. Be warned is a little more touchy feely then MFK but also a awesome forum.
