Hello, new here. I have a goldfish that has developed brown spots along the top of its back. It sits at the bottom of the tank and is gasping. Don't think it's gonna make it. Can anyone tell me what this is? Lost another goldfish a while back with Pop eye. Appreciate any help

sounds like some kind of burn.. you need to keep up with your water change! feeding less, keeping less fish, get a bigger tank and filter will help too.

Would that also be the cause of the Pop eye problem? I have a 47 gallon tank(deep tank not long) with 2 goldfish, one about three inches long and one (sick one) about four inches. One white fantail(?) goldfish at about 5 inches, 2 kissing fish, 1 flying fox, one plecostamos about 3-4 inches, and one kuli loach(had him about 13 years-he's amazing!). I know the kissing fish are aggressive; they took out some of my other fish, but they were given to me by my daughter's teacher and they lived peacably in the school tank with the fish they killed til they moved to my tank. I run a whisper filter for 40-60 gallons. As I have said before, I know I have slacked on the water changes. Did a change yesterday and sick one seems to be moving around more although still "gasping". I put in medicated food today designed to kill bacteria and fungus. Will continue treatment for recommended course. Thank you for your reply; and thanks for not beating over the ears! ;-) I used to be better at water changes but life got hectic on me. Blessings.
