I really like this Goldy pleco I have been seeing at the LFS for some time now.
I have been looking for information on them and found they get 12" and need about a 70% meat and 30% veggie diet, but was wondering how there growth rate is?
Would it be ok to add a 4" Goldy/Sunshine(L014/L14) to my main tank with 6 bichirs(2 endlicheris, 2 Lapradei and 2 ornates) at or nearing 12"?
I also might consider getting 2. Any thoughts on that?
My GF also got me a NTT for sweetest day!!!:headbang2

They are extremely delicate pleco... meat eaters and tank mate should be bottom dwellers of similar speices.. meaning other plecos..

Bichir i think might not be a good mix.. since Bichir are predators.

But if your tank is big enough... it should be fine.. How much are they at your LFS? and how big?

I've heard tales of plecs eating the slime coat off bichirs so you might want to research that aspect. As for more info on goldies here is a good profile http://www.plecoplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1612
Hope this helps. :)
I have heard that before but I also have a L191 Royal pleco and used to have a Gold Nugget.
They do great with each other, but if I do see any Bichir sucking he would surely go.
Thanks for the info... On that site it says they can reach 16" which is making me want one more and also I might want to go with a more meatier diet. Thanks again.

My Gold Nugget was a delicate pleco also and thrived in my tank so I think I am going to give this a try.
They had one that was 4" and one @ 5" and they were both $50. I'll probably get them for $40 a piece though;). Thanks.

Well I grabbed one. He's about 4.5" and I'm guessing by his thickness it's a male, which grow a little bigger then the females!!!

and now you must post pics.:D

yes, please post some pics :)
