Hey guys my Goliath Tiger fish has been acting odd these last few days and I am not sure what’s going on. He is 5 inches and his only tankmate currently is a 7 inch Black Diamond hybrid stingray. I got him on 11/18/2017 from Wes. He started eating cut shrimp after 10 days of food refusing. He started biting and spitting pellets but once he took the shrimp I feed the ray I decided to abandon the pellets and feed just shrimp, which he has seemed to blow up on in terms of girth. The behavior that is strange is that he does this shimmy/head shaking thing randomly. He does not do it with any sort of pattern but it’s enough to question what’s going on. He is still eating fine and has normal breathing out of both gills as far as I can see. I attempted to capture it in this video. He has done it more aggressively than what is show in the video a few times. Please let me know what you guys think could be wrong with him.

Personally wouldn't worry, but if it's something it could be parasitic and thats how he shows he's irritated.

Doesn’t look too out of the ordinary. Would suggest to soak the shrimp with vita-chem though. Or possibly add pellets. Want to avoid thiaminase.

He's havin an itch :). Nothing major I don't think.

Thanks for the advice guys I will leave him be and not try to fix what’s not a problem. I also will have to look into using the vita-chem soak for the shrimp I have used that before.

fish nerd 84 fish nerd 84 I wouldn't worry about it. My Goliath used to do that when shedding teeth. In the future he will even refuse food when shedding teeth.
