Just wanted to know if these corals would work in a 26 bow front under a HQI Pendant? If they will not work please feel free to give me some suggestions! The tank is going to have 1 McCosker's Flasher Wrasse as the only fish. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Light I am getting...... 250/400 HQI Pendant w/250W Ballast

1 Buble Anemone - Entacmaea quadricolor
2 Pineapple Tree Corals - Capnella sp.
2 Cap Corals - Montipora capricornis
1 Brain Coral - Favites sp.
2 Mushroom Corals - Rhodactis inchoata
2-3 Button Polyps - Protopalythoa sp.
1 Lemon Tree - Stereonepthya sp.
1 Plate Coral - Fungia repanda
1 Trumpet Coral - Caulastrea curvata
1 Purple Tree Coral - Nephthea sp.

This is just a rough idea. The first coral will not be put in for at least another 1 or 2 months, I want the tank to get a little more established before I start adding corals.

all corals will live under a halide no problem. What you need to worry about is to much light. heres your list broken up into regions of the tank.

top-mid:
anemone-he will go where he likes
montipora
buttons
trumpet

mid-bottom:
pineapple tree
montipora
mushrooms
brain
buttons
lemon tree
trumpet
purple

bottom:
plate
mushrooms
brain
buttons

this is by no means a set standard. as corals will react diffently to more or less light, its a general guideline by species that i find to give the best growth and color. do you intend to add a flourescent light for actinic coloration, or just run the halide with maybe a 14K-20K color?

have you thought much on a cooling system?? being its on a 26 gallon a 250 watt halide can heat water rather quickly and would be a problem for you and the tank. Just keep your mind open to that.

WOW! Too much light? That never even crossed my mind. Thanks for the info as you probably just saved me alot of headache and some corals also! I am still very new to the salt part and just learning alot of things about the lights (HQI Lighting) and what corals like as far as lighting goes. The bulb I was think about getting is the Hamilton Technologies 14000K 250W. I did not think about a cooling system, though I do know Halide light get very hot, I was thinking I could just hang it from the wall like 8" - 10" above the aquarium and the heat would not matter much. Can I do this or will it still create to much heat that far above? If still to much heat is there a lower wattage HQI i could go with that will not create so much heat? As far as cooling goes is a chiller the only way? Thanks again for the info!

Would a 150W be enough for my tank? 18" from top of sand to top of water.

What about this set up with the fan 250W? OK as far as heat?

Or this 150W System but no fan
